We
are a boy-led troop, offering a Scouting program with emphasis
on
camping and outdoor skills. Our Scouts actively practice the leadership
skills they’ll use as adults. All boys age 11 to 17, in grades 6 or higher,
are welcome to join us or to visit a meeting. Please contact our
Committee Chairman or
Scoutmaster to arrange your visit
to a meeting - we believe you’ll become one of our
newest members.
News You Can Use:
- Congratulations to our newest Eagle, James
R.!
- Information on the Family Camping
trip to Washington D.C. is on the
Family Camping page. If you
have additional questions,
send an email to the coordinator.
- The annual Youth Protection video
showing will be during our meeting on May 22. As always,
parents are invited to stay and watch. If you have any
questions, contact the
Scoutmaster.
- We will have a community service morning
at Hahlawah Preserve on Saturday May 26 from 9:00 to noon. We
are asking ALL Scouts to attend. This will be an opportunity to
build Troop 42 spirit, serve our community, and help our
environment.
- Our annual Independence Day Pancake
Breakfast will be in the Senior Center parking lot before the
parade.
Check the flyer for times and prices.
- Our White Mountain Trek will be
August 9 to 12, 2012. The hike is strenuous with steep, rocky
terrain exposed to weather above treeline. We will reach the highest
and most popular hut in the White Mountains, Lakes of the Clouds, on
the southern shoulder of Mount Washington. This hut offers gorgeous
views of sunrises and sunsets, and proximity to rare alpine flowers.
If enough younger Scouts are interested, an easier hike will also be
arranged. Troop 42 summer hikes are always an adventure and filled
with fun and long term memories! If you want to join the trek,
reserve a bunk at the Lakes of the Clouds Hut for the evening of
Friday August 10, 2012 as soon as possible because they fill up
fast!
Send an e-mail if you have any questions.
- More Assistant
Scoutmasters, Merit Badge Counselors, and Troop Committee Members
are always welcome. Please contact
the
Committee Chairman if you can help the troop.

- Durland Clear Lake Cabin Weekend
